Things Go Bump in the Night

*calmly sleeping when suddenly, a loud screeching noise jostled her awake*
"What on Earth..." She whispered, climbing out of bed and snatching her blanket, wrapping it around her shoulders as she walked out the door.
Upon walking into the darkened living room of her home, she noticed a large and dark figure in the corner.
Feigning courage, she silently slipped over to the light switch, flipping it.
Nothing could prepare her for the sight she was met with.

A night wraith phantom, younger than usual cowering in the corner! It was wrapped in it's dark veil, teeth like razors! Burning red eyes. The sense to protect itself was a shield against the terror it felt. The light had rendered it harmless.
